Job description - Internship - Powder Coat Technician

Assist in GK Machine's Finishing Department by sanding, masking, cleaning, and loading parts onto racks in preparation for powder coating operations. Perform sand-blasting and powder-coating techniques following written and verbal instructions while maintaining safety and quality standards.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Prepare sandblasting, paint, or powder coating metal parts by sanding, masking, and cleaning.
• Properly load parts on racks to achieve desired finishing results. Correctly identify and tag parts.
• Ensure the flow of Work Orders is maintained as directed by following the established schedule by proper staging and processing.
• Complete sand-blasting and powder coat operations within a given time frame and according to written and verbal specifications.
• Inspect components during and after processing to ensure quality standards.
• Assist in maintenance, cleaning, and repair of equipment as assigned.
• Keep all work areas, including the staging area, clean and organized, emptying scrap as necessary.

• Ability to learn procedures, tasks, and operations through on-site training from a senior member of the staff.
• Ability to follow both verbal and written instructions.
• Ability to maintain consistent attendance.
• Attend all training sessions as required for the position and apply knowledge learned.
• Ability to maintain consistent quality of work performed.
