Job description - Industrial Powder Coat Operator

Full Time - Day Shift - Overtime Available - Starting wage $19-23 D.O.E. - 1+ year experience preferred

GK Machine is seeking an experienced Industrial Powder Coating Operator to work as an intricate part of our Paint team. As an Industrial Powder Coating Operator, you will apply powder coatings to various metal surfaces using specialized equipment and techniques. You will also help to prep and powder coat machines and manufactured parts with both protective and decorative materials: paint, enamel, glaze, or gel-coat

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Prepare surfaces for powder coating by cleaning, sanding, and masking as needed.
• Set up and operate powder coating equipment, including spray guns and booths.
• Select powder according to the company's color scheme and specifications, prepare and load powder.
• Apply powder coatings evenly and accurately to achieve the desired finish.
• Monitor the coating process to ensure proper adhesion and coverage while adjusting sprayer valves and nozzle as needed.
• Troubleshoot equipment issues and perform routine maintenance.
• Follows safety protocols and maintains a clean and organized work area.

Desired Attributes and Experience:

• Previous experience in industrial powder coating operations.
• Knowledge of LEAN manufacturing principles.
• Experience operating forklifts, cranes, and material-handling equipment.
• Math skills for measuring and calculating material requirements.
• Mechanical and/or equipment knowledge for setup and troubleshooting.
