Job description - Quality Control - Fabrication

We're seeking a skilled Quality Control – Fabrication professional to join our team. This role ensures all fabrication department parts and processes meet our rigorous quality standards. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, experienced in fabrication, and thrives in a fast-paced, industrial environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Inspect, monitor, and uphold quality standards for all parts moving through the fabrication department.
  • Conduct first-article, in-process, and final inspections to ensure all standards and specifications are met.
  • Maintain accurate and timely documentation and checklists for all inspections and testing throughout the production process.
  • Identify quality issues and recommend changes or process improvements.
  • Rework or reject subassemblies or finished products as necessary.
  • Assist in creating and updating inspection procedures, protocols, and checklists.
  • Evaluate issues and offer preliminary recommendations for corrective actions.
  • Label and stage completed parts leaving the department in an organized manner.
  • Manage and maintain proper inventory levels of welding supplies for the department.

What You Bring to the Role:

  • Ability to read and interpret fabrication drawings, including weld symbols.
  • Strong communication, organization, and attention to detail.
  • Leadership skills with the ability to work independently and solve problems with minimal supervision.
  • Collaboration skills to work effectively with employees, management, and other stakeholders.
  • Ability to present quality management insights and respond to inquiries from auditors, employees, and supervisors.
  • Analytical skills to define problems, collect data, and draw valid conclusions.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • At least 2 years of experience in a Quality Control role within a fabrication environment (required).
  • 5 years of experience in a supervisory or managerial role in an industrial fabrication setting (preferred).
  • 5 years of hands-on fabrication experience (preferred).

Work Environment:

This role involves time in both an office setting and the fabrication shop or outdoor storage areas. Candidates should be comfortable working around dust, dirt, fumes, and varying weather conditions as needed.

Hours of Work:

Full-time position, Monday through Friday, 7 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., with occasional overtime as needed.
