Job description - Manufacturing Project Manager

We're seeking a Manufacturing Project Manager to oversee and lead our large, technology-driven manufacturing projects from concept to completion. The ideal candidate will bring a proven track record in project management, a deep understanding of the manufacturing processes, and the ability to foster collaboration between internal company divisions and external partners.

Essential Functions:

  • Create high-level project plans and feasibility studies and ensure strategic execution by leading the development of proposals and project outlines.
  • Lead product-specific projects by monitoring production performance, managing financial and customer reporting, and liaising with internal and external partners.
  • Communicate priorities and escalate issues to relevant management levels effectively.
  • Oversee and refine operational processes to support seamless program execution.
  • Utilize project management tools and methodologies to develop and implement resolution plans.
  • Lead cross-department collaboration with Production, Planning, and Engineering to ensure designs align with manufacturing capabilities.
  • Manage manufacturing project agreements, budgets, material procurement, change orders, and other customer contractual obligations.
  • Proactively track progress and ensure project deliverables such as drawings, materials, and approvals align with production deadlines.
  • Coordinate quality assurance and control measures to meet project and customer expectations throughout the manufacturing process.
  • Host weekly internal and progress meetings to communicate goals and align deliverables.
  • In conjunction with the manufacturing shipping team, ensure that modules, machines, and parts are prepared for shipping in accordance with the logistics plan(s).
  • Track activities in the CRM Leadman database regularly, ensuring scheduling, follow-up dates, and reports are generated and reviewed regularly.
  • Analyze and research information for the purpose of quoting, costing, planning, and timelines for large technology-driven manufacturing jobs, large multifaceted production runs, and special projects for prototype work approved by management.
  • Identify, proactively address, and resolve customer concerns and gather prospective information, product knowledge, or competitive information.

Qualifications and Experience:

Education:

  • Required: Associate's degree in Manufacturing Technology, Business, Marketing, Sales, or a related field, with at least 2 years of experience in Sales or Customer Service positions.
  • Preferred: Bachelor's degree in Manufacturing Technology, Business, Marketing, Sales, or a related field with 3-5 years of experience in Sales within the manufacturing or fabrication industry.

Experience:

  • Senior-level project management expertise with 5+ years of experience.
  • Minimum 2 years of outside business-to-business sales experience with a proven track record of success.

Technical Skills:

  • Required: Proficient in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint, Word).
  • Preferred: Advanced knowledge of MRP/MRS systems, CRM software, lean processing, and ISO Quality Standards.
  • Proficiency in the English language, including grammar and composition, sufficient for clear and effective communication.

Workplace Expectations:
