Job Description - Quality Assurance

The Quality Assurance manager promotes, develops, and oversees compliance with the company's quality system. They will ensure customer requirements are met by managing quality policies, standards, procedures, programs, and practices while driving and facilitating continuous improvement.

Essential Functions

  • Read blueprints and manufacturing drawings to comprehend the quality expectations for the product.
  • Ensure products conform to GK quality standards by inspecting, testing, or measuring materials or products.
  • Assist and monitor the calibration of all test equipment, fixtures, critical equipment, and instrumentation.
  • Maintain, review, and implement the ISO Quality System.
  • Inspect and deliver product routed to shipping from the staging area.
  • Maintain floor level inspection procedures and processes.

Marginal Functions

  • Any other duties assigned by management.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Five (5) years' quality experience, OR
  • An appropriate combination of education and experience.
  • Read and interpret blueprints.
  • Experience in using measuring equipment: tape measure, angle finder, calipers, micrometers, etc.
  • Computer: Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, MRP, and MRS systems is typically required.
  • Knowledge of the structure and content of the English language, including the meaning and spelling of words, rules of composition, and grammar.

  • Maintain all work-related documentation neatly, legibly, and accurately.
  • Keep the work area in a neat and orderly manner to facilitate manufacturing functions.
  • Seek guidance and direction as necessary.
  • Demonstrate the ability to tactfully handle difficult situations and use good judgment in investigating and resolving problems.
  • Maintain a well-groomed, presentable appearance.

Work Environment

GK Machine makes every effort to provide a pleasant, environmentally controlled office and facility atmosphere. However, this position will be required to spend some time in the fabrication shop, warehouse, and outdoors in the storage yard in all types of weather, and will be exposed to dust, dirt, fumes, etc. You may visit current and potential manufacturers, suppliers, customers and other outside professionals with whom the Company does business on a regular basis at their locations, in various types of conditions over which the Company has no control.

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work

This is a full-time position, and hours of work and days are typically Monday through Friday, 7 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. The employee may be asked to perform overtime.
